Three Texas Democrats on unmasked charter flight to D.C. test positive for COVID-19

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Texas Democrats who fled their state with a plane full of beer to take an unmasked flight to D.C. to spread their message are spreading more than anti-Republican sentiment, they’re spreading COVID-19.

Now, after three members of the progressive contingent are confirmed COVID-19 positive, it’s looking more like a super spreader event than a political protest.

Officials say the three members who were not publicly identified tested positive were also fully vaccinated.

“The House Democratic Caucus is following all CDC guidance and protocols. This is a sober reminder that COVID is still with us, and though vaccinations offer tremendous protection, we still must take necessary precautions,” Texas House Democratic Caucus Chairman Chris Turner said in a statement on Friday. “We are in touch with public health experts in Texas to provide additional guidance. Our caucus will follow all recommendations from public health experts as we continue our work.”

Those members have met with Vice President Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.
