Convicted Murderer Arrested by Border Patrol

NILAND, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an undocumented individual with a prior conviction for murder Wednesday afternoon. 



At about 2 p.m., Indio Border Patrol Station agents conducted an inspection of a train and encountered the undocumented individual. The 53-year-old Mexican national attempted to further himself into the U.S. by trying to conceal himself in a cargo box of a train traveling northbound near the Highway 111 immigration checkpoint.



The undocumented individual was arrested and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.



Records checks revealed that the individual was previously convicted of murder and previously removed by an immigration judge.
