Tiny Puppy Dumped in a Drainage Ditch learns to walk and run

Kristen Harrison-Oneal

A man walking stumbled upon a tiny little puppy dumped in a drainage ditch. She could barely move. She just stared at him. He picked her up and carried her to his car. He immediately brought her to the Animal Hospital to be treated. The Vet did not know if she would recover, as she was severely emaciated. She was covered in fleas and ticks. They removed the ticks and gave her a warm bath and offered her some soft food. She was able to eat the food.

For the next several days she was very weak. She could not stand up. She did eat and drink and slowly she started gaining some strength. Next, she was able to stand but was very unsteady on her feet. Soon after she took her first steps, then went right to running!

Her rescuer decided he couldn’t live without her so he kept her. He measured her against a giant teddy bear until she eventually outgrew it.

Now she runs and plays and is the happiest girl.
