National Weather Service investigating multiple possible tornados in Thursday’s storm

JACKSON, NJ – A possible tornado landed near Lakehurst Township Thursday night and headed east toward Jackson. Another possible twister touched down in Barnegat and headed across the Barnegat Bay to strike Long Beach Island. Yet another area where a tornado may have struck is in Eastern Pennsyvlania and Western New Jersey near Trenton.

Storm damage was evident in those areas, but the National Weather Service today will be investigating whether or not that damage is consistent with that of an actual tornado.

“Here are the following areas that we will be investigating today. More details will be provided tonight. If you observed damage, please let us know,” the National Weather Service Mount Holly station said today.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-0 tornado in Verona.
