New Jersey Congressman Kim under fire after supporting disastrous Biden Afghanistan withdrawal

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Kabul has fallen to the Taliban. The U.S. embassy has been evacuated. The Taliban have seized control of the nation’s presidential palace. Helicopters, including U.S. military Chinooks similar to the ones that shuttled Americans out of Vietnam during the fall of Saigon, are once again evacuating Americans trapped as enemy forces surround the city.

One New Jersey Congressman who claims to know a lot about Afghanistan, Andy Kim is now being criticized for his support of President Joe Biden’s disastrous exit from the country. It is now nearing an embarrassment of epic proportions to the United States on the global scale.

Kim, who worked as a note-taker during the administration of former President Barack Obama applauded Biden’s exit strategy.

“This decision is the right move that finally ends the longest war in American history. As we approach 20 years since September 11th, we honor the thousands who lost their lives that day as well as the over 2,300 U.S. Servicemembers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. Our military has decimated Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and prevented them from regaining safe haven,” Kim said. “We will stay vigilant against terrorism threats, whether in Afghanistan or anywhere in the world, and continue to make the security of our homeland our top priority.”

This week, the Taliban have released thousands of Al Qaida prisoners from Afghan prisons. Those released terrorists have already aligned with the Taliban forces that now control the county.

Republicans are now slamming Kim’s support for the epic failure of a withdrawal taking place today. Bob Hugin, a Marine Corps veteran and chairman of the minority NJ GOP said today was a sad and disastrous day for the United States.

“The fact that nearly 20 years after the attacks of September 11th, Joe Biden would allow the heinous and oppressive regime that harbored the terrorists who committed those attacks to retake Afghanistan, threaten American personnel and our allies, and commit atrocities against women is an appalling and outrageous dereliction of duty.”

Hugin also slammed Democrat Congressman Andy Kim for his support of Biden’s failed Afghanistan foreign policy.

“This is damaging to America’s reputation in the world, it’s harmful to our allies and is a colossal foreign policy blunder of the highest order,” Hugin said. “What’s equally appalling and outrageous is the fact that @RepAndyKimNJ, who proclaims himself to be a national security expert and who represents a district home to countless active duty service-members and veterans, has been completely and totally silent on this disastrous failure. His silence and failure of leadership is second only to that of Joe Biden’s.”
