Police investigating early morning murder in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – The Port St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning murder. Chief Deputy Hester said the murder appears to have been a targeted incident and there’s no danger to the public.

“The victim in this tragic incident has been identified as 39-year-old Marcus Davis Leath,” said Chief Deputy Hester said. “We believe this was a targeted incident and therefore do not believe there is any danger to the public. “Again we ask if you have any information that can help us with the investigation please call 772-462-3230.”

Earlier this morning, Sheriff Mascara announced that deputies and detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred overnight on Las Palmas Way in Port St. Lucie. According to the Sheriff, two black, male subjects entered the residence brandishing firearms and ultimately shot the victim.
