Police find man dead, lying on sidewalk in Dover

DOVER, NJ – Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Dover Police Department Chief Jonathan Delaney announce an investigation regarding a deceased male located on West Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ on August 29, 2021.

At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021, Dover Police Officers responded to the area of West Blackwell Street and Randolph Avenue in Dover on the report of a male lying on the sidewalk. On arrival, they located a deceased male. The victim’s name and identity will not be released at this time.

Police have identified a person of interest. The investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. There is no perceived threat to the public at this time.
