Two arrested for murder of Dallas man

DALLAS, TX – On Monday, August 30, 2021, at approximately 12:42 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 1661 Bending Oaks Trail. Upon arrival, officers found the rear door of the residence partially open and made entry.  They found an unidentified Black male lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.   The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office will attempt to identify the unknown victim through fingerprints analysis.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as Avery Burns, a 38-year old black male. 

On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, suspects Lusmarly Rivera, a 44-year old Latin female, and Juan Barboza-Banuelos, a 30-year old Latin male, were arrested for the murder of the victim, Avery Burns.  The suspects are currently at the Dallas County Jail and have been charged with murder.  A magistrate will set their bonds.
