‘Baradar the Butcher’ reportedly the new leader of Taliban controlled Afghanistan

A man whose nickname is ‘Baradar the Butcher’ is expected to be named the new leader of the new Islamic nation of Afghanistan. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar might be named the leader of the country within the next few days as the Taliban continue working on an interim government.

In 2018, Baradar was released from a prison in Pakistan after serving 8 years at the request of the U.S. government.

Baradar earned his nickname from the number of people who were killed at his command during the 20-year war with the west. He is also referred to as the “Father of the IED”. He was the mastermind behind the roadside IEDs that killed hundreds of coalition forces and is accused of being the driving force behind countless executions of Afghan women during his previous reign.

He is one of the founders of the Taliban.
