D.C. Police need Assistance finding Vehicle of Interest relating to Gunshot

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, September 5, 2021, in the 6000 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 1:46 pm, Fourth District members responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim in Prince George’s County, MD, suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A vehicle of interest, described as possibly being a white, newer model Toyota Camry sedan, with a shattered rear window, was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below:

Anyone who can identify this vehicle or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
