Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump unleashed a new, damaging commercial under his Save America PAC that highlights President Joe Biden’s failures during the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Prior to the hasty evacuation that left 13 U.S. servicemembers deads and others critically wounded, Biden proclaimed Kabul’s retreat would not be compared to the U.S. evacuation of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War.
“It was much worse,” Trump said.
Images of helicopters evacuating Americans from the embassy as black smoke and gunfire were captured on video are now etched into the minds of Americans as the final imagery of the twenty-year war in Afghanistan. Then came the horrifying videos of U.S. planes taking off from Kabul Airport with Afghanis hanging on the landing gear of the plane, some falling to their death after the plane took off.
On the ground in Qatar, U.S. officials said bits and pieces of human remains were found in the plane’s landing gear.
