ICE announces new online scheduling tool for noncitizen check-in appointments

Press Release

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced today a new web-based, bilingual, and smartphone compatible appointment scheduler for noncitizens, called the ICE Appointment Scheduler, available at www.ice.gov/check-in. The launch of this tool will allow noncitizens to schedule their required check-in appointments at ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) offices as they await immigration proceedings. Previously, appointments had to be made via phone or in person.

Noncitizens can create an appointment online using information found on their I-385 form, thus eliminating the need to wait on the phone or travel to an ICE office to make an appointment on a walk-in basis.

DHS policy remains that, to the extent possible, single adults and families apprehended at the border are expelled under the Centers for Disease Control Title 42 public health authority. In the event that individuals are not amenable to expulsion, they are either transported to an ICE facility or enrolled in ICE’s Alternatives to Detention program to ensure compliance with ICE check in requirements. Those who do not report to ICE or attend immigration court hearings as required may be subject to removal, like other individuals in the United States without legal status.

Noncitizens can schedule their appointments online in English or Spanish. Technical support is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT by calling the ICE’s Victims Engagement and Services Line (VESL) at (833)–383–1465.
