WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, an advocate for open borders and an opponent of the US-Mexico border wall wants to rebuild the barbed wire barrier around the U.S. Capitol building.
“Though no specific measures have been announced, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hinted during her weekly press conference Wednesday at extra safety precautions for the Sept. 18 rally by saying: “We intend to have the integrity of the Capitol be intact.” Briefings for lawmakers, including congressional leaders, are expected in coming days,” the Associated Press reports.
“Open Borders Nancy Pelosi is getting ready to put the Capitol Fence back up. Nothing says “The People’s House” quite like razor wire,” said Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.
The fence is expected to be rebuilt around the Capitol ahead of a planned September 18th rally.
“Well, we intend to have the integrity of the Capitol be intact. I’m not going into any specifics in that regard. Let me just say, and I appreciate your question, because what happened on January 6th was such an assault on this beautiful Capitol, a Capitol under the dome that Lincoln built during the Civil War,” Pelosi said. “And now these people are coming back to praise the people who were out to kill, out to kill Members of Congress, successfully causing the deaths – ‘successfully’ is not the word, but that’s the word, because it’s what they set out to do – of our law enforcement.”
