Jackson Police charged two for DWI

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Jackson Township police reported two DWI incidents that occurred on Monday, September 7th.

During a routine security check of Woodmere Apartments Officer Cocchiara encountered a suspicious occupied vehicle. During the course of the encounter, it was determined that the 66-year-old male occupant/driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and he was subsequently arrested. He was processed and released on motor vehicle summonses with a pending court date.

Then, Officer Jamison observed a vehicle driving erratically and failing to maintain a lane on S. New Prospect Rd. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the parking lot of the Quick Check. Upon contacting the driver he was extremely belligerent and exited his vehicle, ignoring repeated commands to remain seated. The 50-year-old male driver was placed under arrest for Obstruction and transported to Police HQ. He was processed, charged on a complaint summons with Obstruction and multiple motor vehicle summonses relating to DWI, and then released with a pending court date.
