NEW YORK, NY – It’s not clear who is calling the shots in the Biden administration, but one thing is clear. It’s not Joe Biden.
For the second time this week, the White House handlers for U.S. President Joe Biden have ushered out the media before allowing them to ask questions after another high-profile meeting.
Biden met with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison today. After the meeting concluded, it appeared the President was ready to receive questions from the media, but once again, the loud and boisterous off-camera woman’s voice was heard forcing the media to leave the room.
“Thank you. C’mon guys. Let’s go. We gotta go,” she screamed as Biden pointed to a member of the press. This is the second time the White House staff has refused press access to the President as world leaders meet at the United Nations.
Here’s what happened yesterday:
A bizarre incident unfolded in the Oval Office of the White House and U.S. President Joe Biden sat down for a face-to-face meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson. As Prime Minister Johnson was speaking, he was cut off mid-sentence by a screaming female White House aide.
“Ok, thank you, thank you, let’s go,” she shouted as she quickly forced the media out of the room and denied Johnson a chance to speak. “Let’s go!”
The rude interruption occurred after Johnson invited questions from the media, something the Biden administration does not often do.
After Sky News’ Beth Rigby asked if Biden was going to prioritize the UK-US trade deal because of conflicts with the Northern Ireland Protocol, the President said he doesn’t feel “very strongly” about keeping the Irish border open.
