Burglar dies trying to break into pizzeria through the rooftop exhaust fan, police say

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man trying to gain access into a Galloway restaurant became trapped inside the rooftop exhaust fan and died, police said today. The man was discovered by restaurant staff when they arrived at the business.

On Monday at 09:58 am, members of the Galloway Twp. Police Department was dispatched to Two Brother’s From Italy Restaurant for the report of a deceased male. The investigation revealed that the unidentified white male attempted to gain entry into the restaurant via a rooftop exhaust fan.

During the burglary attempt, the male became trapped within the exhaust fan and was unable to free himself. Identification of the deceased male is pending investigation by both the Galloway Twp. Police Department, as well as the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
