In June, 15-year-old Darius Cheston won the gold medal in the 2021 Summer Sports Finals, placing first in the 50 meter, and 3rd in the 100 meter.

“On September 30, 2021, the world lost a very special young man. Darius Cheston, though only 15 years old, was full of life and determination. He had a stunning smile, a sweet personality, and a big heart. As an athlete, Darius was incredibly proud of his accomplishments participating with the Special Olympics, competing in track,” Lenora Cheston said.

Darius was also an artist, enjoyed video games, and loved his family very much.

Gone too soon, Darius leaves behind so many family and friends who cared and loved him deeply.”
