Suspect identified in Texas school shooting

Arlington, TX – A suspect has been taken into custody after today’s school shooting. He will be charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. All students were safely evacuated from the school and taken to the reunification center, but not before four were shot.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Timothy Simpkins.

At 9:15 am on Wednesday, police responded to reports of a shooting in a Timberview High School classroom. Officers arrived on scene quickly and secured the school. They determined the shooter left the building after the incident. We are currently searching for him now.

Three people were transported to the hospital, two of them with apparent gunshot wounds. A fourth individual was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.


One of the victims is recovering at the hospital and is listed in critical condition. The second victim is listed in good condition. The third victim was treated for minor abrasions and was scheduled to be released this afternoon.
