Suspect Arrested in Boston Stabbing that left one dead

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – Suspect Arrested in Homicide Investigation in the Area of West Newton Street and Shawmut Avenue in the South End

Earlier today, Tuesday, October 5, 2021, The Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Jibrail Abdurrashid, 26, of Attleboro on a Suffolk Superior Court warrant for Manslaughter. The arrest was made in Worcester.

Circumstances Surrounding the incident are as follows: At about 8:38PM on Friday, May 14, 2021, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of West Newton Street and Shawmut Avenue in Boston. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Gerie Acevedo, 24, of the South End.
