BAY COUNTY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a stabbing on October 12th at about 10:22 at a residence on Cherokee Heights Road. One person has been arrested.

Deputies arrived at the home to find a male victim bleeding heavily. The victim had puncture wounds to his back. The victim claimed to have been stabbed as he stood in his driveway. BCSO Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene, and EMS responded quickly to the scene. As he was being placed in the ambulance, the victim told deputies his daughter was in the home.

Deputies found a young child in the home. As they found the child, her older brother arrived at the home. Deputies discovered a trail of blood through the house to the backdoor. After clearing the home and making sure no one was inside and also injured, deputies went into the backyard and found a woman laying on her side in the grass. She had a massive amount of bloodstains on her shirt and deputies initially thought she was also stabbed but she wasn’t. She appeared intoxicated and was verbally uncooperative. A large knife was found about 6 feet away from the woman, stuck into the ground.

A family member came to care for the two juveniles. The woman was identified as Sharon Lance, age 39, of 4824 Cherokee Heights Road, a girlfriend of the victim. Lance was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. She was taken to the Bay County Jail.
