Everyone but Chicago Mayor Lightfoot wore a face mask at WNBA championship in picture posted by mayor

CHICAGO, IL – It was a packed house at Wintrust Arena as the home team Chicago Sky defeated the Phoenix Mercury in game four of the WNBA championship. The Sky were crowned national champs after their close 80-74 victory in the best out of five series.

The area was full and everyone inside was following Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s COVID-19 indoor masking law, except Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Lightfoot posted a photo of her maskless while the large crowd all around here wore facemasks.

The incident is yet another incident of liberal politicians enacting COVID-19 mandates that apply to everyone, but themselves. Last week, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who oversees one of the nation’s most strict COVID-19 responses was caught twice not wearing facemasks at progressive political functions.

Fans in attendance came to the mayor’s defense saying she wore her mask during the entire game, taking it off only for the photo opportunity. Lightfoot’s office did not issue a statement regarding the photo after articles by right-wing media outlets criticized her actions.
