Four convicted sex offenders caught after crossing border

DEL RIO, Texas – Del Rio Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested four convicted sex offenders, Oct. 14-21.

In the last seven days, agents assigned to Del Rio Sector have arrested more than 6,000 undocumented migrants. During processing, record checks revealed four of the migrants were felons previously convicted of sex crimes.

Brackettville Station agents identified a man from Mexico, who was convicted of indecent exposure in Dallas in 1998, and was sentenced to 60 days confinement. He was last removed from the United States in July 2021. A man from Mexico, arrested by Eagle Pass Station agents, was previously convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on a child less than 13, in Alton, Illinois in 2006, and sentenced to seven years confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in October of 2021. Comstock Station agents arrested a man from Mexico, convicted of indecency with a child/sexual contact, in Houston in 2003, and sentenced to three years confinement. He was deported in April 2008. Agents from the Uvalde Station arrested a man from Honduras, who was convicted of forcible touching – act in manner injuring child less than 17 – in Long Island, New York in 2017.
