CAROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND – Thomas Stewart of Westminster added a Lucky scratch-off to the weekly grocery list and came home $50,000 richer.

Thomas Stewart and his wife do their shopping every Saturday morning, with scratch-offs a consistent item on their list. A $5 Lucky instant ticket was among several scratch-offs they bought last weekend at College Square Liquors, and the game was true to its name for the Westminster couple. They won a $50,000 top prize!

“We’ve been playing these things for a long, long time,” said Thomas, who is an HVAC specialist. “Winning enough to get a few more tickets has been our goal and what we’ve come to expect.” Referring to the big win, Thomas said, “This is not supposed to happen!”
