Fort Lee man charged for sexually assaulting 13-year-old

 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Yupang Ip, of Fort Lee, New Jersey on sexual assault and child endangerment charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Fort Lee Police Department regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department revealed YUPANG IP sexually assaulted the child, who was younger than 13 years old, in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, YUPANG IP was charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by sexual conduct, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). YUPANG IP was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.


Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
