Alejandro Morales Alonzo charged with sexual assault against child

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Alejandro Morales Alonzo of Jersey City, New Jersey on sexual assault and child endangerment charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief Marty Kahn.

On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Fairview Police Department regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fairview Police Department revealed that Alejandro Morales Alonzo sexually assaulted the child, who was younger than 13 years old, on at least two occasions in Fairview, New Jersey.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, November 5, 2021, Alejandro Morales Alonzo was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1); one count of second-degree sexual assault by contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). Alejandro Morales Alonzo was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.


Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
