Two charged for plot to kill New York judge Stacey Romero

Rochester, NY- On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, a Monroe County Grand Jury indictment was unsealed, charging Dimitri Cash and Joenathan Cash with Conspiracy in the 2nd Degree. Both defendants are alleged to have conspired to commit Murder in the 1st Degree against Monroe County Family Court Judge Stacey M. Romeo. Following the unsealing of the indictment, both Dimitri Cash and Joenathan Cash were arraigned in front of New York State Supreme Court Justice Argento.

Both defendants are being held without bail with the opportunity to make future bail applications. On the previous kidnapping indictment, Dimitri Cash and Joenathan Cash are being held on $150,000 cash, $450,000 bond and $1,000,000 partially secured bond. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sara Vanstrydonck, Chief of the Special Victims Unit and Assistant District Attorney Patrick Gallagher, Chief of the Domestic Violence Bureau.

This indictment is the result of the culmination of an investigation with the Irondequoit Police Department, the Greece Police Department and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. These defendants are scheduled to be back in court on January 6, 2021, for motion arguments in front of New York State Supreme Court Justice Argento.
