Ocean City cop charged for misconduct, child sexual assault

OCEAN CITY, NJ – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland has announced a grand jury indictment against Tyrone Rolls, 51, a police officer with the Ocean City, New Jersey Police Department.

Rolls, of Marmora, has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of official misconduct, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of aggravated assault against a domestic violence victim.

Rolls has been suspended from the Ocean City Police Department pending the outcome of the trial and investigation. Sutherland claims Rolls had a sexual relationship with a juvenile victim.
