Ridgefield man charged for child endangerment, sexually assaulting child under 13

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Billy Garcia (DOB: 8/14/2003; single; unemployed) of Ridgefield, New Jersey on sexual assault and child endangerment charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief Martin Kahn.

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Fairview Police Department regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fairview Police Department revealed Garcia sexually assaulted the child, who was younger than 13 years old, in Fairview, New Jersey.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, Garcia was arrested in Paramus, New Jersey and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1); second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). He was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.


Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
