Sardar Habib charged for selling THC vape pens

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of SARDAR HABIB (DOB: 11/25/1999; single; unemployed) of 172 Park Ave., East Rutherford, NJ on weapons, money laundering and drug-related charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the East Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief Dennis Rivelli.

On November 12, 2021, during a narcotics investigation, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the East Rutherford Police Department executed a search warrant at SARDAR HABIB’s residence. A search of the residence revealed a 9mm “ghost gun” that was manufactured without serial numbers, a .40 caliber handgun loaded with hollow nose bullets and a large capacity magazine, heroin, marijuana, THC oil, equipment to manufacture THC vape pens for distribution, and over $27,000 in illegal proceeds.

SARDAR HABIB was in the residence and arrested without incident. He was charged with one count of first-degree maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-4; one count of first-degree possession with intent to distribute hashish oil, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)(a); two counts of second-degree possession of a firearm while in the course of committing a violation of 2C:35-4 (maintaining or operating a CDS production facility), N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1a; two counts of second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1); two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1); one count of second-degree certain persons not to be in possession of a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b(1); one count of third-degree money laundering, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-25a; one count of third-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(11)(b); one count of third-degree possession of heroin, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); one count of third-degree possession of a firearm manufactured without an imprinted serial number, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3n; one count of fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j; one count of fourth-degree possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, N.J.S.A. 2C:36-3; and one count of fourth-degree possession of hollow nose bullets, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3f(1).


SARDAR HABIB was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the East Rutherford Police Department and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team for their assistance in this investigation.
