15-year-old girl struck, seriously injured in Jersey City hit and run

JERSEY CITY, NJ – On November 27, 2021, shortly after 3:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to an incident in the area of Delaware Avenue near the intersection with Duncan Avenue in Jersey City. The responding officers discovered a second incident in which a 15-year-old girl was apparently struck and seriously injured near 196 Duncan Avenue. The vehicle that struck her had left the scene.

During the preliminary investigation, officers discovered that a mid-size sedan struck the teenager as she was crossing Duncan Avenue. The officers identified the suspected vehicle, found a matching vehicle traveling on Condict Street and arrested the driver, Boris Marroquib Solarzano, age 30, on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated.

The victim of the collision was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she is currently being treated for her injuries. Her injuries are critical and life-threatening at this time.


The collision is being actively investigated by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
