Woman shot multiple times, killed in Paterson

Paterson, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 8:18 p.m. on December 2, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 661 East 24 th Street, in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located 25-year-old Jasmin Wel of Paterson, New Jersey. Ms. Wel had sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, Paterson New Jersey.

Jasmin Wel was pronounced deceased at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Detectives located a suspected crime scene outside of 661 East 24th Street, Paterson, New Jersey. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
