Columbus SWAT team arrests man wanted for September murder

Columbus, OH – A Columbus SWAT team arrested a man wanted for the September gunshot murder of another.

On September 12, 2021, at approximately 5:08pm, officers were dispatched to the 1200 Block of Brookway Rd on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived at scene and located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, 24-year-old Guann Gregory, was transported by to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 5:52pm.

The suspect in this Homicide was identified as Garland M. Williams M/B/45. A warrant for Murder has been filed for his arrest – Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Columbus Division of Police.


On December 1, 2021, at 3:44 pm, 45-year-old Garland Williams was arrested by Columbus Police SWAT officers for his outstanding Murder Warrant. Williams was arrested without incident and was transported to the Franklin County Jail after meeting with Homicide Detectives.
