VERO BEACH, FL – A Vero Beach man is in the county jail facing charges that include arson of a structure and cruelty to animals, among others, after witnesses identified him as the person who burnt down a house on Caribbean Circle Tuesday afternoon.

Travis Tanner Pippin, 36, of the 1900 block of 35th Ave., Vero Beach, was identified as the man pouring fuel on the property and setting it on fire with a blow torch. The arson was captured in photos and video.

Investigators learned that Pippin knew a dog was in the home when the fire was started, which led to the cruelty to animals charge. Pippin is known to the home’s owners.

The house was a total loss.

Pippin is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond and faces additional charges that include trespass on property and resisting arrest without violence.
