Man killed stepfather because he disapproved of gay dinner guest in his mom’s ‘House of God’

WOOLRICH, NJ – On October 9th, Christian A. Smith, 23, of Philadelphia shot and killed his stepfather after learning that a guest at his mother’s home was a homosexual.

The feud occurred after smith confronted his stepfather about the houseguest. The argument escalated when stepfather Dennis McKenzie, 43, of Woolrich took a swing at Smith. Smith then pulled a gun and shot McKenzie several times. After three shots, McKenzie was dead.

“He made it known to his stepfather that he did not approve of that person coming into their house … that their house was a house of God,” Assistant Prosecutor Dana Anton said during a pretrial hearing.
