COCOA, FL – Detectives are currently investigating an armed robbery that ended in a homicide late Thursday night. The incident occurred in the area of Kensington Dr. and Donna Ave. Just before 11 PM, the victim, a local cab driver, was called to the area to pick up a fare and was shot and killed.

The suspect fled the scene. A similar armed robbery and carjacking occurred in the same area on Tuesday where a delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint and the suspect fled in the delivery driver’s vehicle.

The victim, in that case, was not injured. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence and attempting to identify a suspect. It is not known if the cases are related. Food delivery drivers and other services providing delivery or transportation should maintain a heightened awareness and report any suspicious activity to local police.
