MACON, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single vehicle traffic collision that took place at around 1:30 a.m. The collision occurred on Interstate 75, southbound, near Arkwright Road.
According to witnesses, a vehicle that was driven by 32-year-old Stevie Jones Jr. of Macon, was traveling south on Interstate 75. Jones lost control of his vehicle and then went off of the roadway. The vehicle went between two guardrails and then struck a sign post.
Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to Coroner Miley, the next of kin has been notified.
