EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – U.S. Army soldiers from Fort Campbell bit off more than their Army football team could chew when they crushed a Navy football helmet under an M-1 Abrahams tank then delivered that crushed helmet under armed escort by soldiers to Roger Staubach.

Staubach, a two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall-of-Famer led his Dallas Cowboys to four Super Bowl appearances.

It turns out, the helmet was the only thing Army crushed this week. In the end, it was Navy who rolled over Army during the game, beating the doughboys 17-13

Since the game began in 1890, Navy holds a 61-52 advantage over Army including a recent 14 year winning streak by the Naval Academy from 2002 through 2015.

Army rebounded, winning three straight from 2016 to 2018, but since, the teams alternated victories from 2018 to 2021.
