Wilkinsburg Police Make Arrest in Shooting of 54 Year-Old Man

WILKINSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA – On December 6, 2021, Wilkinsburg Police were dispatched to the 700 block of
Wood Street for a male shot inside an apartment. When officers arrived, they discovered a 54-year-old
male victim shot in the head. The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Detectives determined 32-year-old Montrez Michael Blanks was responsible for the shooting.

County Police obtained an arrest warrant for Blanks charging him with aggravated assault, person not to
possess a firearm and criminal attempt homicide.

On December 14, 2021 the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad arrested Blanks in
Wilkinsburg. Blanks will be lodged in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
