Jersey City murder suspect, fugitive captured in Asbury Park wanted for killing girlfriend

ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Jersey City man wanted in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 27-year-old Diamond Davila of Jersey City, was arrested on Thursday, December 16, 2021, shortly before 6:30 a.m., by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang/Violent Crimes Unit. Davila was killed in her Jersey City apartment in October.

Tyquan Baisden, age 25, was arrested on Summerfield Avenue in Asbury Park without incident. He has been charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, a first-degree crime; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Cord) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d, a fourth-degree crime; and Possession of a Weapon (Cord) for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, a third-degree crime. Baisden will be housed at the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first appearance.

On October 19, 2021, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City. Responding officers found a lifeless woman at that location. The woman, later identified as Davila, was pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m. The Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be Homicidal Violence and the manner of death to be Homicide.


Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department for the investigation.
