SILVER SPRING, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Crime Suppression Task Force arrested 21-year-old Malick Sebo of Silver Spring for driving a stolen vehicle, possessing narcotics, and illegally carrying a loaded .40 caliber Glock 22 with an extended magazine and mounted laser.

On December 13, at approximately 7:39 p.m., officers were patrolling downtown Silver Spring when they observed a dark gray Honda Accord traveling on the roadway with an equipment safety violation. The officers activated their lights and attempted to pull over the Honda in the area of 13th St. and Georgia Ave., but the driver, later identified as Malick Sebo, failed to stop, made a left turn onto northbound Georgia Ave. and fled the scene.

At the intersection of Georgia Ave. and Silver Spring Ave., Sebo lost control and crashed his Honda onto the sidewalk in a highly populated area. After the collision, Sebo exited the Honda and fled on foot. There was a foot pursuit and Sebo was apprehended. Officers located a loaded .40 Glock 22 with an extended magazine and mounted laser on the ground near Sebo. Officers also located 5 suspected Oxycodone pills inside Sebo’s wallet.

Officers then conducted a wanted check on the Honda and determined that it was reported as stolen out of Washington, D.C. During a search of the vehicle, a glass vile containing a suspected controlled dangerous substance known as Phenylcyclohexyl Piperidine (PCP) and a small amount of Cannabis were located.

Sebo was transported to the MCPD 3rd District Station, where he was interviewed. Sebo admitted to fleeing from the officers because he was in possession of the firearm.

Sebo was transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with theft related charges and illegal possession of a firearm and narcotics. Sebo was released on a $750 bond.
