Teen shot at Riverway Sports Park

VISALIA, FL – On December 17th, 2021, at 10:00, officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Riverway Sports Park. As this call was being reported, undercover officers that were in the area reported hearing shots being fired. As they approached the park, several vehicles were observed leaving. Vehicle descriptions were provided to responding officers who observed one of the vehicles at Locust and Race St. A traffic stop was conducted, and the sole occupant was detained without incident.

As this stop was taking place, officers were notified that a 16-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at Kaweah Health Medical Center with a family member. The vehicle officers stopped was found to be a witness and was later released.

The Violent Crimes Unit was asked to respond and take over the investigation. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim and suspect were involved in a physical altercation at the Riverway Sports Park. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the 16-year-old victim. Detectives were able to identify Adam Prideaux, 32, of Visalia as the shooter and obtained an arrest warrant. With the assistance of the Special Enforcement Unit, Prideaux was located and arrested without incident outside a residence in the 2300 block of W Buena Vista. The firearm believed to be used in the shooting was also located.


The Juvenile victim is in stable condition.

Prideaux was booked at the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Det. Lamar at 559-713-4739.
