Fire destroys North Carolina QVC warehouse, 1200 workers affected

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – On 12/18,2021, at 2:02 a.m., the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a fire at the QVC distribution center located on Kingsboro Rd, Rocky Mount.

As members of local law enforcement and fire departments began to arrive it was determined that there was a fire inside one of the main warehouses.

During the course of the day over 33 agencies ranging from local, state, and federal jurisdictions were involved in attempting to secure the facility.


As it stands now roughly 60-70% of the fire has been contained and crews are still actively working it. No arrests have been made at this time in connection with the fire and it is actively being investigated by the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina SBI, the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

There is one individual who is unaccounted for at this time. If you have any information on the fire, or if you have any concerns of employees of QVC that you have not had contact with them contact the Edgecombe County Sheriffs Office at 252-641-7911.

Citizens should be aware that Kingsboro Road will be closed through the remainder of the night as first responders continue their efforts.
