Police make arrest in last week’s murder of Camden teen

Camden, N.J. – Detectives have made an arrest in the December 12, 2021 homicide of a minor in Camden, announced Acting Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Jihad Williams, 24, of Camden was taken into custody Tuesday at a residence in Pine Hill by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. He’s been charged with First-Degree Murder and related weapons offenses in the death of the 16-year-old victim.

The minor was found by officers at approximately 8:20 p.m. on the 2100 block of Sewell Street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:20 p.m. at Cooper Hospital.


Williams was processed on his murder and weapons charges and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
