Two shot and killed in car in I-40 in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN – On December 25, 2021, at approximately 1:40 AM, Memphis Police officers responded to a crash at I/40 West and Chelsea Avenue. They arrived to find Donte Smith and Derick King suffering multiple gunshot wounds inside of a silver 2013 Honda Accord with tinted windows and TX tags. Smith and King were pronounced deceased on the scene. Memphis Police is asking for anyone with information to please notify the Homicide Bureau or Crime Stoppers.

No arrest has been made. This is an ongoing investigation.
