INTERLAKEN, FL – A 38-year-old Interlachen man was arrested and charged Dec. 23 with a capital felony for sexual assault on a child under 12 by a person 18 years or older and first-degree felony for sexual assault after an anonymous call to the Department of Children and Families abuse hotline triggered an investigation.

Following the call a DCF investigator met with the child who said Adam Crenshaw had committed acts of sexual violence. Detectives with the sheriff’s office were contacted to assist in the investigation. The child described items used during the abuse and where those items were located. A search warrant was executed by detectives who found the items, which corroborated the child’s statements. The child stated the abuse had occurred over several years. Based on the child’s statements and items found, detectives arrested Crenshaw. He was taken the Putnam County Jail and held without bond.

“This monster took advantage of a child’s innocence and crushed it,” Sheriff H.D. ‘Gator’ DeLoach said. “These acts were reprehensible and it broke my heart when I heard we granted a Christmas wish by ending the abuse. No child should ever have to make that wish and I will do everything to ensure this vile human being is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Due to the nature of the crime and the investigation, the child’s age, gender and relationship are not being disclosed. No further information is available at this time. See less
