Joe Biden calls for social distancing on school busses, and for busses to also be socially distanced from each other

President Joe Biden today called for the social distancing of students on school busses and even the actual busses themselves.

“Social distance in classrooms, even larger classrooms, on buses and everything from bus drivers to buses to the actual bus,” Biden said.

The average school bus in America is between 20 and 45 feet in length, meaning the larger school busses would be able to transport 12 people including the bus driver when factoring in three-foot social distancing. At six feet, that would reduce bus capacity to just 6 people, including the driver. On small busses, a school bus driver would be able to transport at most, two to three children under CDC social distancing guidelines.
