$200K Powerball Winner in Rockville

ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND – A happy Montgomery County resident turned up at Maryland Lottery headquarters this week to start the New Year with a $200,000 boost to his bank account. The 59-year-old claimed a $200,000 prize he won in the Oct. 27 Powerball drawing.

The Rockville man favors jackpot games and luck was in his favor on Oct. 27 when he bought a $20 quick-pick ticket for that night’s Powerball drawing. He added the Power Play multiplier to the ticket, which wound up quadrupling his $50,000 third-tier prize for the big win.

“The money is coming at the right time,” said the anonymous player, noting that he plans to pay bills with the prize and keep quiet about his windfall.

His lucky ticket came from the Rockville Service Center located at 1900 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Players still have time to try their luck in tonight’s Powerball drawing, which has a jackpot of $27 million and a cash option of $18.7 million.
