NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred on December 30, 2021.

Police responded to a report about a robbery around 10:19 p.m. on Bruen Street. When they arrived, a female victim told officers that the suspect snatched her purse and fled southbound towards Lafayette Street.

The suspect, a black male, is described as 6’0’’ with a medium build and light complexion. He was wearing a black winter coat, black winter hat, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a black backpack.

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
