Jackson man charged for theft at Extreme Marine Construction facility

BRICK, NJ – On 12/18/2021 a theft occurred at Extreme Marine Construction on Princeton Ave in Brick. The suspect loaded expensive aluminum beams onto a flat trailer owned by the business and then removed the trailer with his truck.

The total value of the stolen property is reported to be approximately $47,000.00. Through several anonymous tips from the public, and further police investigation, the suspect was positively identified as John Paul Cottrell Sr., 48-year-old male from Jackson. An arrest warrant was issued for Cottrell and he was taken into custody at his residence on 01/06/2021.

Cottrell was charged with theft of movable property and lodged in Ocean County Jail. During his arrest, additional evidence linking him to the crime was recovered and seized. The stolen property has not yet been located, and the investigation is on-going.
