Hollywood police make SWAT team drug bust

HOLLYWOOD, FL – Members of the Hollywood Vice, Intelligence, and Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with the Street Crimes Unit, received information of a subject selling Carfentanil/fentanyl out of an apartment in Hollywood. Surveillance of the address revealed telltale signs of an active narcotics location. Detectives were able to identify the suspect, who was actively selling carfentanil and cocaine from the target address. The suspect has an extensive violent criminal history to include arrests for aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, burglaries, resisting w/o violence and assorted narcotics offenses. He had been out on bond for an prior armed trafficking offense in narcotics.


Detectives were able to secure a search warrant, along with an arrest warrant for the suspect, for several counts of delivery of Fentanyl within 1000’ of a childcare facility, which was operating and open nearby during the narcotic transactions. Due to his violent criminal history, the Hollywood Police Department SWAT Team carried out the search warrant on January 12. The suspect attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.

A search of the premises revealed 29.5 grams of crack cocaine, 31.4 grams of fentanyl, a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol, and approximately $1,200 in suspected narcotic proceeds. The suspect was additionally charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and fentanyl (respectively), resisting without violence, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was taken to jail.
